Course Description

Course Content
Application of theoretical concepts to practical cases: Planting and establishment of different kind of plant material (trees, shrubs, herbaceous and lawns). Plant propagation techniques (seeding, cutting and split).
Management techniques adaped to a specific situation : weeding, hoeing, replacements of plants, pruning, replacement of stakes, pruning hedges,, fertilizing, mowing and improving soil aeration; Cleaning water features and cleaning of pavements.
Elimination of invasive plants.
Landscape maintenance schedule according to the specificity of the areas .
Teaching Methods
Lectures supported on audiovisual systems. Field trips and participation in several activities related with management of green spaces
Evaluation:
- Student's attendance and work developed during classes (weight 1)
- Report /draft (weight 1)
- Report of study visit and conferences (weight 2)
The final average is calculated taking into account the weighting coefficients of all elements of evaluation.
