1 Myth: theoretical approaches.
2 Myths of creation and evolution.
2.1 The world of Hesiod, Theogony.
3 The world of gods and its different forms.
3.1 Characterization of the principal gods: literary, ritual and iconographic elements.
4 Heroic cycles and legends.
5 Questions of gender in myth.
6 Reception of myth in contemporary culture.
6.1. Trojan war in Homer and in the cinematographic version of W. Peterson.
6.2 Iphigenia, in Euripides and Cacoyannis;
6.3 The Oedipus myth in Oedipus Tyrannus of Sophocles and in Re Edipo of Pasolini.
7 From history to myth
7.1 Relationship between myth and history in the film The Gladiator by R. Scott.
