Tragedy and comedy from origins to 5th century. 3.2. Aristotle on tragedy. 3.3. Euripides, Bacchae: religion, irrationality and violence. 3.4. Politics and society in Aristophanic comedy. II. Rome 1. 1. Virgil, Aeneid. 2. Horace: time, love and power in Odes. 3. Roman theatre: evolution, contexts, authors. 3.1. Seneca, Phaedra: staging the desire.
