Introduction
This Master's Degree is aimed at professionals and researchers from several fields who wish to acquire, or deepen, knowledge in theoretical and applied Mathematics with an emphasis on Algebra, Analysis and Statistics.
This master's degree is the only one in the area of Mathematics offered in the Alentejo and Algarve regions, providing advanced training in a fundamental scientific field to these regions of the South of the country, thus contributing to its balanced development.
Its main objectives are:
- Provide a solid training in Mathematics (with a strong application component), necessary for the performance of a professional activity, possibly integrated in multidisciplinary teams, or to continue studies.
- Allow professionals and/or researchers to deepen their Mathematical and/or Statistical knowledge for use in their professional or scientific life.
-Provide, according to the chosen training profile, an in-depth knowledge of parts of advanced Mathematical theory and/or Statistical methods and techniques appropriate for solving real problems.
- Open research perspectives in different areas of Mathematics.
- Promote employability, entrepreneurship, innovation and training in Mathematics.
