In view of the growing economic and social importance of the sports phenomenon in Portugal, Europe and Ibero-American space, coupled with the growth of demand in this market segment in recent years, it is important to respond to the need for specialized training in Sport Management in the 2nd cycle. Graduates in several scientific fields, as well as the continuation of postgraduate studies to the professionals in the active. The Master in Sports Management and Administration aims to: a) Develop advanced concepts, techniques and methods, from the interface between Sport Sciences and other Sciences, through a multidisciplinary curriculum and contextualized to the sports universe; b) Qualify higher level professionals with in-depth knowledge in the field of Sport Management, trained to compete in the competitive sports market, entrepreneurial, responsible and ethical; c) Provide students with new perspectives and intervention instruments to work in sports organizations or related entities, in order to exercise professional activity with high competence and innovative models. Training in Sports Management has shown an increase in the number of employment opportunities, from the aspect of sports spectacle as a global business to the aspect of physical exercise aimed at the health of the local population.
