Introduction
The course confers professional qualification for the teaching of Portuguese and Foreign Language (Spanish), according to DL 79/2014, May 14. The course is accredited by A3Es (Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education). The curricular structure includes four areas: General Educational Area, Specific Didactics, Teaching Area and Initiation to Professional Practice. The Supervised Teaching Practice takes place during the second year of the course in the primary and secondary schools that established a cooperation protocol with the University of Évora. This Supervised Teaching Practice corresponds to the professional stage that is the subject of a final report, integrating an investigative dimension, and subject to approval in public discussion. The course takes place from monday to friday during normal working hours. The objectives of this course are: To understand the educational value of the Portuguese and Foreign Language disciplines and to reflect critically on the functions of teachers, especially native and foreign language teachers; Master planning, evaluation and pedagogical intervention skills, making decisions that are pedagogically consistent and scientifically justified; To know the functioning of the educational system, of the schools and of the respective organizations and structures; To master the necessary competences for the professional development throughout the life, manifesting capacities of reflection, problematization and investigation on one's own practice or on a certain educational problem.
