Introduction
This two years long course is intended for graduates, whether in Philosophy or in other scientific areas. Those who frequent and are approved in its units can obtain:
Certificate of Specialization Course (at the end of the 1st year);
Diploma of the Master Course (when the curricular component is completed);
The Master degree (after the defense of the final dissertation).
The Course has three areas of specialization: Contemporary Philosophy; Philosophy in Portugal; Ethics, Gender and Citizenship. The common objective of the three variants is to enable the discussion of key issues of collective life and contemporary thinking, and their articulation with Portuguese philosophical culture. Other specific objectives are, for example:
To contribute to the critical knowledge of the Évora Public Library old fund;
To promote the understanding of the ethical dimension of the development processes related to the problems of globalization and the technological society;
To explore interdisciplinary perspectives in the approach of theoretical and epistemological issues in the scope of citizenship and gender.
The Department of Philosophy, which is responsible for the Course, has protocols of collaboration within ERASMUS, with foreign universities, namely from Belgium (Liège), Spain (Murcia), Italy (Padova), Poland (Warsaw) (Szegedi) and the Czech Republic (Hradec Králové and Palachého v Olomouci).
